The Standard is intentional in guiding organizations to recognize, respond and support employees within their organization with respect to cultural safety and where employees are able to work to their full potential. Endorsing a culture within an organization that is psychologically healthy and safe is not a “nice to have”, nor is it in any way intended to release people from accountability for their actions or inactions. There is a genuine business case for improving and maintaining a psychologically safe workplace culture in the thirteen areas described within the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety.
